DIY: Unclog Sluggish Sink or Bathtub Drain With Household Products

Has your sink or bathtub drain become sluggish over time? Here is an extremely easy way to unclog your faucets with household items you most likely already have in the house.

- Pour about 1/2 cup of dry baking soda followed by 1 cup of white vinegar into the drain. This works best if you cover up the drain and plug the hole so nothing can escape. It will immediately begin to bubble away and begin to clear the drain.  (Be careful when mixing these items and realize that this is a chemical reaction. Do not attempt to touch this mixture)

- Repeat this step if necessary.

- Give the baking soda/vinegar mix a few minutes to clear the drain and then pour about 6-8 cups of boiling water down the drain.

- Follow-up with running hot tap water for a minute or two.

You might surprise yourself at how well this works! I have used this method personally and admit it works better than liquid plumber or Drano – Every time!
