An early morning armed robbery of five Emory University students likely was not random, DeKalb County Police say.

Around 2:30 a.m. Monday, the masked thieves entered an unlocked door of a house in the 2400 block of N. Druid Hills Road, DeKalb Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said. After tying up the five students who live there, the gunmen methodically cleaned house, stealing laptops, televisions, other electronics and an undetermined amount of cash. They spent roughly three hours at the residence, Parish said.

They left just before sunrise, and around 6 a.m., one of the students was able to wiggle loose and call 911, she said. One victim sustained a blow to the head but was not seriously injured, Parish said.
